Amazon Web Services (AWS) launched 5th annual Start-Up Challenge contest. Contest winner will get $ 50,000 cash and $ 50,000 Amazon Web Services credits. Start-up companies from across the world can participate in this contest. Amazon will announce the winner at a public event for start-ups and investors. This contest aims to recognize innovative uses of its cloud computing platform.
Last date to participate in the contest: October 2, 2011.
How Amazon will pick contest winners:
1. All eligible entrants who submit a qualified entry into the contest will receive $25 in AWS credits at the conclusion of the contest.
2. Amazon will select 15 regional semi-finalists: 5 each from the Americas, Asia Pacific (including Japan), and EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa), respectively, who will each receive $2,500 in AWS credits.
3. 6 finalists will be awarded a package of $10,000 in AWS and a trip to Palo Alto, California, to attend the final round of judging.
4. Contest winner will get $50,000 cash, $50,000 AWS credits and AWS Premium Support Gold for one year.
